  Overview

  KYN61A‑40.5 type armored, withdrawable AC metal‑enclosed switchgear (hereinafter referred to as “switchgear”). Its main features include the use of a new fully insulated vacuum circuit breaker within the cabinet, an assembled cabinet structure that enhances product appearance and improves the mating accuracy between the handcart and the cabinet, extremely smooth and effortless insertion and withdrawal of the handcart with guaranteed interchangeability, rapid production and assembly for timely delivery, optimized utilization of floor space required for installation, and ease of mass production. It also enables door‑closed operation: all routine operations—including circuit breaker opening and closing, advancing or withdrawing the handcart to the working position or to the test/isolation position, and operating the earthing switch—can be performed with the circuit breaker compartment door closed. This product complies with the following standards: GB 3906 “AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear for 3–35 kV,” GB/T 11022 “Common Technical Requirements for High-Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment,” and IEC 60298 “AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Control Equipment Rated at 1 kV and Above but Not Exceeding 52 kV.” The product is intended for use in 40.5 kV three-phase AC power systems at 50 Hz, serving as equipment for receiving and distributing electrical energy in power plants, substations, and industrial and mining enterprises, and providing functions such as control, protection, and monitoring. In addition to widespread application in general power systems, it is also suitable for locations requiring frequent operations. Environmental conditions of use meet the normal operating environmental requirements specified in GB 3906 “AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear for 3–35 kV.”

 

  Product Structure

  The KYN61A-40.5 switchgear is structurally divided into two main components: the cabinet body and the circuit breaker handcart. The cabinet houses either a new-generation fully insulated vacuum circuit breaker or an imported sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker. The cabinet adopts an assembled structure, which enhances the mating accuracy between the handcart and the cabinet, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing appearance, rapid production and assembly, and timely delivery. The cabinet is fabricated from imported aluminum‑zinc coated steel sheets, formed by CNC sheet‑metal bending equipment, and assembled using high‑strength bolts and nuts (grade 8.8) or pull‑rivet nuts.

  The typical configuration is divided into four functional compartments: the relay and metering compartment, the hand‑car compartment, the cable compartment, and the busbar compartment. Each compartment is separated by grounded metal partitions, which prevent arc propagation and confine any potential faults to a limited area. With the exception of the relay and metering compartment, all other compartments are equipped with independent pressure‑relief vents. When components in a particular compartment require replacement or maintenance, full‑cabinet power shutdown is not necessary; it suffices to disconnect the power at both ends of the component, allowing maintenance personnel to safely access that compartment. The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP4X; when the circuit breaker hand‑car compartment door is open and the hand car is in the open/test position, the protection rating is IP2X. Closed‑door operation is also possible. All routine operations of the switchgear—such as opening and closing the circuit breaker, advancing the hand car to the working position or withdrawing it to the open/test position, and opening and closing the earthing switch—can be performed with the high‑voltage compartment door closed.

  The switchgear cabinet accommodates cable‑in/cable‑out, overhead line‑in/out, busbar interconnections, isolation, surge arresters, and other primary‑side configurations. This switchgear employs composite insulation, with materials and manufacturing processes entirely sourced domestically.

  E. Quantity, specifications, and model numbers of spare parts for the switchgear.

  F. When the switchgear is to be operated under special environmental conditions, such requirements shall be submitted in writing at the time of order.

  G. Paint color of the switchgear enclosure or panel.

  H. Delivery period for the switchgear.
