  Overview

This type of substation offers outstanding performance characteristics such as reliable power supply, rational design, rapid and flexible installation, convenient operation, compact size, and low cost. It can be deployed both outdoors and indoors and is widely used in industrial parks, residential communities, commercial centers, high‑rise buildings, and various other applications.

 

  Characteristics of American-style pad-mounted substations

  1. Fully sealed, fully insulated design—eliminating the need for clearance distances and ensuring reliable personal safety.

  2. Compact in size and with a streamlined design, it occupies only about one-third the footprint of comparable domestic transformer substations of the same capacity.

  3. It can be used in both ring networks and terminal applications, with seamless switching that enhances the flexibility of power supply.

  4. Low losses—on par with those of comparable domestic transformers—and, upon customer request, a range of combined‑type transformers is available, featuring loss levels corresponding to Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, and amorphous‑alloy core designs.

  5. The cable joint can handle a load current of 200 A; in emergency situations, it can be operated as a load switch and also exhibits the characteristics of an isolating switch, offering convenient and flexible operation.

  6. Equipped with dual-fuse protection for reliable operation.

  7. The enclosure features an anti-corrosion design and a special paint finish, making it suitable for a wide range of harsh environments, such as highly polluted areas prone to frequent storms.
